Prelude To Thorn

This week as I finish up the final touches on Slasher House and finally braved the Flashback sequences that I always knew were going to be hard. There are a few reason's for that, the main one being that they were shot very much on the fly and with no external audio at all. Which meant that basically I was building the sound for them from scratch with nothing taken on set to use.

So I figured I would use this opportunity to test the look and style I wanted to inject into the Thorn movie. So I built a soundscape that I thought fit the character and tone of what a Thorn movie would look like. The Flashback itself was shot at the building I worked in a couple of years back and I treated as a somewhat brief version of events that I planned to take place in the Thorn solo outing which was planned originally for a 2011 Production.

I wanted to inject a bit of a kill count as well, as the way Slasher is set up you only have room for so many kills, which seemed a bit daft considering that we were making a Slasher Movie. My thinking was that Thorn was the perfect character to introduce a bit of extra violence and it also broadens the Character a little. My main problem with this segment is that I had kind of planned where everyone elses Flashbacks would go, But Thorn's was treated more like "Shoot now, Work it out later'. I'm glad we did though as it now sits as my favourite piece of the film and it only comes in at just over 30 seconds.

Its the perfects prelude to a Thorn movie and will most likely help us raise money to get the Thorn movie off the ground for early 2013 production and finally the King Of Slashers will rise to greatness and begin an event that will shock the Mycho Universe for years to come
